How to live an extraordinary life

Don't take life so seriously

Life is about 10% how you make it
and 90 % how you take it.
Don't take life so seriously
You'll never get out of it alive.

The Carpenter

A highly skilled carpenter who had grown old was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his family. He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire.

The employer was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter agreed to this proposal but made sure that this will be his last project. Being in a mood to retire, the carpenter was not paying much attention to building this house. His heart was not in his work. He resorted to poor workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career.

When the job was done, the carpenter called his employer and showed him the house. The employer handed over some papers and the front door key to the carpenter and said "This is your house, my gift to you."

The carpenter was in a shock! What a shame! If he had only known that he was building his own house, he would have made it better than any other house that he ever built!

Our situation can be compared to this carpenter. Almighty has sent us to this world to build our homes in paradise by obeying His commands. Now, we have to decide how well we wish to build the homes where we will live forever.

'Weakness of attitude becomes weakness of character'

The Japanese have always loved fresh fish. But the water close to Japan has not held many fish for decades. So to feed the Japanese population, fishing boats got bigger and went further than ever. The further the fishermen went, the longer it took to bring the fish. If the return trip took more time, the fish were not fresh. To solve this problem, fish companies installed freezers on their boats. They would catch the fish and freeze them at sea. Freezers allowed the boats to go further and stay longer. However, the Japanese could taste the difference between fresh and frozen fish. And they did not like the taste of frozen fish. The frozen fish brought a lower price. So, fishing companies installed fish tanks. They would catch the fish and stuff them in the tanks, fin to fin. After a little thrashing around, they were tired, dull, and lost their fresh-fish taste. The fishing industry faced an impending crisis! But today, they get fresh-tasting fish to Japan ....

How did they manage? To keep the fish tasting fresh, the Japanese fishing companies still put the fish in the tanks but with a small shark. The fish are challenged and hence are constantly on the move. The challenge they face keeps them alive and fresh!

Have you realized that some of us are also living in a pond but most of the time tired and dull ? Basically in our lives, sharks are new challenges to keep us active. If you are steadily conquering challenges, you are happy. Your challenges keep you energized. Don't create success and revel in it in a state of inertia. You have the resources, skills and abilities to make a difference. Put a shark in your tank and see how far you can really go!

PRAISE THE LORD

There was a little old lady, who every morning, stepped onto her front porch, raised her arms to the sky, and shouted: 'PRAISE THE LORD!'
One day an atheist moved into the house next door. He became irritated at the little old lady. Every morning he'd step onto his front porch after her and yell: 'THERE IS NO LORD!'
Time passed with the two of them carrying on this way every day.
One morning, in the middle of winter, the little old lady stepped onto her front porch and shouted: 'PRAISE THE LORD! Please Lord, I have no food and I am starving, provide for me, oh Lord!
The next morning she stepped out onto her porch and there were two huge bags of groceries sitting there.
'PRAISE THE LORD!' she cried out. 'HE HAS PROVIDED GROCERIES FOR ME!'
The atheist neighbor jumped out of the hedges and shouted: 'THERE IS NO LORD; I BOUGHT THOSE GROCERIES!!'
The little old lady threw her arms into the air and shouted: 'PRAISE THE LORD! HE HAS PROVIDED ME WITH GROCERIES AND MADE THE DEVIL PAY FOR THEM!'

Rules for a Happy Home

Our Life in this Story

There was a man traveling on a trip with his Wife and Kids. And on the way he met someone standing in the roadway. So he asked him: Who are you?
He said: I am the money.
So the man asked his wife and kids : Should we ask him to ride with us?
They said together: Yes of course because with the money it can help us if we wanted to do anything, and if we wanted to get anything we desired. So they took the Money to ride with them. And the vehicle continued its way until the man met someone else on the road
So the Father asked: Who are you?
He said: I am the high position and power.
So the father asked his wife and kids : Should we ask him to ride with us? So they all answered together in one voice: Yes of course because with the high position and power we have the ability to do anything we want and own anything we desired. So they took the high position and power with them. And the vehicle continued to finish its trip.
And likewise he met in the same manner many people which give the pleasures and desires of this life, UNTIL .. They met one person on the way..
The Father asks him: Who are you?
He said: I am the Deen (Islam) So the father, wife, and kids said all together in one voice: No no this isn't the time, we desire the pleasures of this life and dunyah, and the Deen will prevent us and ban us from these things and it will take control over us, and we will be worn-out from being loyal to it and its learning. And the halal and the Haram, and this thing prayer and that thing hijab, and this fasting , and and and and and etc, It will be a burden upon us!!! But what is certain is that we will definitely return for you to pick you up but only after we enjoy this life and everything in it.
So sadly they left him behind and the vehicle continued its trip. And out of no where something appeared in the middle of the road. It was a check point in the road and it had a sign saying STOP!!!
And they found a man gesturing for the father to get out of the vehicle. So the man said to the father: The trip has ended as far as you are concerned!!! ! And it is upon you to get out and come with me. The father was shocked with fear and didn't say a word. So the man said to him: I am searching for the DEEN. Is he with you? He answered: No I left him not too far back. So if you can let me go> back, I can get him for you :You do not have the ability to go back, your trip has ended and there is no going back now.. returning is impossible said the man Um uh¦but but I have The Money, The high position and power, My Wife, My Kids, and and and and and and on. The man said to him: They will not benefit you nor will they protect you in front of Allah. Not one bit! And you will leave all of this, and not one of them will help you except for The Deen you know? The one which YOU left back in the road. So the father asked: And who are you exactly?
I AM DEATH The one which you were heedless of and didn't take into account in your trip!! The father looked at his vehicle and found his wife taking control of it and continuing the trip with all of its passengers but him. And none of them stayed with him, and none of them helped him in any way. His Majesty said:"Say: If it be that your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your mates, or your kindred; the wealth that ye have gained; the commerce in which ye fear a decline: or the dwellings in which ye delight - are dearer to you than Allah, or His Messenger, or the striving in His cause;- then wait until Allah brings about His decision: and Allah guides not the rebellious." Qur'an 9:24
And Allah the Majestic said: "Every soul shall have a taste of death: And only on the Day of Judgment shall you be paid your full recompense. Only he who is saved far from the Fire and admitted to the Garden will have attained the object (of Life): For the life of this world is but goods and chattels of deception." Qur'an 3:185

The Big Ship that Landed on an Island

There was once a big ship that landed on an Island.
The Captain said to the people: "Dear passengers, we will anchor here for you to gather provision and admire the nature and we shall move on with our journey in a few hours time".
All passengers got off and roamed around the island in groups.
  • Some 'Wise' gentlemen and ladies walked peacefully, collected some souvenirs and food for the journey and returned quickly to the ship. Since they were the first ones back, they got the best and comfortable places on the ship.
  • The second group of 'Forgetful' people walked, played and enjoyed their time. They admired the island and explored its nature. But soon they remembered the ship, so they ran back, without any food and souvenirs. Coming on board, they were tired, but alas the best seats were taken, so they had to do with the less comfortable ones.
  • The third group of 'Greedy and Lustful' people got amazed by the wonders of this island and they began to collect its plants and precious stones. After a while, having heard the call of their captain, they started to head back to the ship, carrying plants, stones and jewelry of all colors and value. However, the heaviness of the treasure they eagerly wanted to bring back slowed their return, and by the time they reached the shore, the boat had already left.
  • And finally, some 'Aimless and Narrow-Minded' people, convinced themselves that the island was all there is and the ship was just something they had imagined. They thus explored the island and built for themselves houses. The boat, of course left them to perish on the island and to be forgotten by everyone.
Similarly, on our journey to Allah, The Creator, we have landed on this island, called the World (Dunya).
  • Some 'Wise' gentlemen and ladies will walk around and collect good deeds, love and knowledge of Allah and quickly return to The Creator. They of course will be handed paradise, the best of it!
  • The second group of 'Forgetful' people will get distracted by the world (dunya) until their last moment. They will then repent at the last minute. Perhaps they will make it and get the lowest levels of Jannah.
  • The third group of 'Greedy and Lustful' people will be amazed by the world (dunya), and get attracted by its temporary and fake beauty. They will indulge in desire and food and be illusioned by it. Perhaps, a call will bring them back to realization, but alas, the attraction will be too much to leave behind and they will miss the ship of salvation.
  • And finally, some 'Aimless and Narrow-Minded' people will just ignore the journey to Allah and pretend that this world is all there is. They will take their houses as their homes and their desires as god. Indeed history as seen many people as such, but no one remembers them. They have been left in hell.
So, my friend... The ship is waiting, please jump on board! Your Creator Allah is calling you:
Oh man! surely you must strive to your Lord, a hard striving, until you meet Him. (84:6).

A WOMAN’S AFFECTION & LOVE (A REAL TRUTH)

A Woman's love is something, that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion, and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish, and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it, or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving, when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters, even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing, when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty, of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret, like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendor miracle, man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence, of God's tender guiding hand.

SLOW DOWN

  • Life is not a race. It is a journey.
  • Getting someplace first, before anyone else, has very little real and lasting meaning. Seek instead to encourage others to come along, and we'll find the journey much more fulfilling.
  • When we hurry through each moment, we miss out on the richness that could be ours.
  • Take the time to live, to experience where we are, rather than being so obsessed with getting to the next checkpoint.
  • When we stop demanding to have it all now, we'll discover that we have plenty already.
  • Learn to experience joy where we are, and we'll experience it in abundance.
  • Yes, it can be wonderfully exhilarating when life is moving quickly. But do not move so quickly that speed becomes our only experience, for there is so much more to enjoy.
  • The terrain of life is filled with wonderful and astounding detail. Slow down and take in its richness.

Financial Planning

Dan was a single guy living at home with his father and working in the family business. When he found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died, he decided he needed a wife with which to share his fortune. One evening at an investment meeting he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her natural beauty took his breath away. "I may look like just an ordinary man," he said to her, but in just a few years, my father will die, and I'll inherit $200 million." Impressed, the woman obtained his business card and three days later, she became his stepmother.
Women are so much better at financial planning than men.

More Than Amazing Friend

I wish you could see all the feelings that are deep inside of me,

Love when you are here by my side and I hate when you leave,

All the questions that are floating inside the depths of my mind,

How do I make you understand that you are more than amazing,

Everything that my life has been in need of through all the years,

Want to be there with you through all the laughter and the tears,

Holding me close then you push me away I am feeling so confused,

Do I stay by your side or just walk away and forget words I said,

So I just keep pushing forward hoping for a little something more,

I stand here waiting and wondering what you really want from me,

Just a little kiss on the cheek and quickly I felt something deep inside,

Laying here just dreaming of what having your love would be like,

Trying to hide what I am really feeling think that it is a little to late now,

You know everything that my heart is truely feeling when I am with you,

You have me in a whirl you came and rocked my little world,

Taking your heart and my promise is this to be oh so careful with it,

Knowing you were once broken and I am hoping to mend your heart,

Just tell me what I can do so that I can be the one next to you in the end,

Holding you close just to let you know in the end that it will get better,

Here I will stay through the sunny days or through the stormy weather,

Please just let me know what your heart is really feeling inside it for me.

Choices

There comes a time in ur life when u must decide. No help from anyone, on which u have always relied. between right and wrong, between good and bad, to walk away or fight. To be honest and true, to be open with ur heart, or to hide ur feelings, play it safe from the start.

To sit back and watch, to listen and learn. or jump into the fire, taking a chance on a burn. To stay, to move, to not care, or always prove. To be strong, to be weak, to be aggressive, to be meek. To laugh out loud with all ur might, or smile a little just to be polite.

To stay together, to live apart, to think with ur mind or trust with ur heart. To live in the past, to always look back, to look ahead to the future, with ambitions u wont lack. Begun at the front, or start at the end, believe in ur own self, or follow the trend.

To dream, to hope, to quit, to cope, to be a lover, to be a friend, to be real or just to pretend. Choices we make can break or break, to have to decide at all cound be our worst fall.
Choices are sometimes deceiving, u can be lured by the sweetest bait. So make ur decision wisely, because to change ur mind could be too late.

Life is all about choices, for however we decide, we'll have to live with our decision until the day we have died.

The Pancake

Six year old Brandon decided one Saturday morning to fix his parents pancakes. He found a big bowl and spoon, pulled a chair to the counter, opened the cupboard and pulled out the heavy flour canister, spilling it on the floor . He scooped some of the flour into the bowl with his hands, mixed in most of a cup of milk and added some sugar, leaving a floury trail on the floor which by now had a few tracks left by his kitten. Brandon was covered with flour and getting frustrated. He wanted this to be something very good for Mom and Dad, but it was getting very bad. He didn't know what to do next, whether to put it all into the oven or on the stove, (and he didn't know how the stove worked!). Suddenly he saw his kitten licking from the bowl of mix and reached to push her away, knocking the egg carton to the floor. Frantically he tried to clean up this monumental mess but slipped on the eggs, getting his pajamas white and sticky. And just then he saw Dad standing at the door. Big crocodile tears welled up in Brandon's eyes. All he'd wanted to do was something good, but he'd made a terrible mess. He was sure a scolding was coming, maybe even a spanking. But his father just watched him. Then, walking through the mess, he picked up his crying son, hugged him and loved him, getting his own pajamas white and sticky in the process. That's how God deals with us. We try to do something good in life, but it turns into a mess. Our marriage gets all sticky or we insult a friend or we can't stand our job or our health goes sour. Sometimes we just stand there in tears because we can't think of anything else to do. That's when God picks us up and loves us and forgives us, even though some of our mess gets all over Him. But just because we might mess up, we can't stop trying to "make pancakes," for God or for others. Sooner or later we'll get it right, and then they'll be glad we tried...

Priceless

How To Build Relationships With Others?

From the most important principles that should be followed when building relationships with people are: Correct the relationship between yourself and Allah and Allah will then correct the relationship between yourself and others. Studies have proved that every individual has his own unique pattern of understanding and that patterns are usually one of the following: A visual pattern, i.e. one looks at the world and deals with it from a physical point of view. A hearing pattern, i.e. one looks at the world and deals with it based on the words that one hears (one better understands by hearing). An emotion-based pattern, i.e. one looks at the world through one's emotions and inner feelings. If you succeed in understanding how a particular individual perceives things (i.e., which pattern one emphasizes), then you can more easily achieve harmony and understanding between the two of you, as well as achieve confidence in your relationship.Put yourself in the place of others and let them hear from you what you like to hear from them, and behave with them the way you like them to behave with you. Always keep smiling, especially during difficult situations and incidents. Keep your calm and self control when provoked. Always be sensitive to feelings of others, their rights and their needs. Choose your words carefully, especially during the first encounter. Be cheerful when speaking and beware of dull facial expressions and tough looks even if your words are very nice. When the atmosphere is not appropriate to talk about a particular subject, then it is better to end the talk about that subject in a courteous way and postpone it to a more appropriate time. Decorate your talk with jokes and proverbs without making this overwhelming in your talk, and tell only the truth. This will induce an interactive discussion. Give away gifts even if small ones and rush to help others even if in little ways, because these are means of winning hearts and of building relationships. It is related in Adab al-Mufrad of Al-Bukhari that the Prophet (may peace and blessing be upon him) said: "Give gifts as it will create love amongst you." Spread Salam (Islamic greeting) and reply to a greeting with a better one. This is a key to winning others' hearts, so be eager to own this key. Keep your promises and be truthful in your talk. This will make others love you even when you cannot accomplish what they want. Be generous within your means. Even whatever little that you may give will put you in a high position in the hearts of people. No one can win the hearts of others while he is described as stingy and not generous. Be simple and spontaneous in dealing with others. Being organized in your life will make you win others' respect, even that of your enemies. Be clean in your body, mouth and clothing, be stylish without exaggeration, and put on a nice fragrance; all these will make others that are dealing with you more comfortable, instead of making them avoid you. These principles can be applied under all circumstances and in all roles - at work, at home, with our husband or our wife, our father, our sons, our friends, or with strangers
