We all have a basic self, a childlike part that is more impressed by actions than by thoughts. If you just think about writing a novel, the basic self may ignore you, but if you buy a notebook or get started on a computer and start jotting down plot outlines and character ideas, your ‘self’ will become more interested and send you inspiration.
